Painting has been a lifelong part of my creative work. My primary medium is acrylic, and much of my artwork draws on landscape, atmosphere, color, and the character of place. This gallery presents a selection of paintings created over the years.
Nantucket
I spent several weeks each summer on Nantucket, and over time the island became a familiar and much-loved source of inspiration. I was drawn to its quiet beauty—the sea, beaches, weathered houses, changing skies, and the distinctive light that gives the island such a special atmosphere.
These paintings grew out of my repeated visits and my affection for the places and scenes that became part of those summers. Rather than simply recording the landscape, I wanted to capture something of the feeling of Nantucket: its openness, its calm, and the subtle changes of color and light that made each visit different.Nantucket Series

Baja, Mexico Series:
Baja California has been my home for thirteen years, and I love the changing colors of the sky and mountains around me. I am primarily an acrylic artist, painting landscape scenes of San Felipe and the children of San Felipe celebrating the Day of the Dead.

Colorado Series:
I lived in Colorado for several years and was continually inspired by the beauty and variety of its landscape. I spent many hours visiting the Rocky Mountains, exploring well-known landmarks, and discovering quieter places that offered their own sense of drama and peace.
I was especially drawn to waterfalls—the movement of water over rock, the changing patterns of light, and the contrast between rushing water and the stillness of the surrounding mountains. These paintings reflect my personal connection to Colorado and my response to its mountains, rivers, waterfalls, and expansive natural scenery.

Miscellaneous Place:
Miscellaneous Paintings
These paintings are drawn from many different places, subjects, and experiences that have caught my attention over the years. Some were inspired by travels to places such as Peruvian ruin, winter in Vienna, and my friend’s garden in Wales.
The collection also includes subjects that appealed to me for their color, form, atmosphere, or simply because something about them captured my interest. Bottom left is an ashram I spent heee, the center was my art studio in Dyton, Ohio Art Institute, and many years later, I took a painting course at Georgia O’Keefe’s Ghost Ranch, and painted the New Mexican landscape..

Abstract Paintings
My abstract paintings have always been among my favorite works. I first began exploring abstraction during my early years as a student at the Dayton Art Institute in Ohio, when I became fascinated by the expressive possibilities of color, shape, and form.
These paintings often developed intuitively, without the need to represent a particular place or object. I was drawn instead to color, mystery, movement, and to forms that seemed to emerge from within the painting itself—forms that sometimes appeared to cradle, contain, or give birth to something not yet fully known.
For me, abstraction opened a different kind of creative space, one in which imagination and feeling could take precedence over literal representation. These works remain especially meaningful to me because they reach toward something beyond the visible world: a sense of creation, transformation, and mystery expressed through color and form.
